The Owner, passionate about Maya architecture, approached Joe and his team wanting to transform his existing 2,200 square foot home into an elegant home representing the architecture that defined his passion. He was also an avid gardener, creating a lush landscape that flows in and out of the home. Unified around the open central kitchen, views radiate out bringing in the landscape. The master bedroom, located on the lower level, has a wall of French doors that open out to the private garden. A central oversized spiral stair connects all the spaces and draws you up to the roof top deck overlooking the garden and beyond to the panoramic views of west Austin. The home is organized to engage with the landscape on multiple levels. The result is a home integrated with nature. The selected materials of stone, wood and concrete offer a durability that will last for generations, it won’t need to be torn down or replaced anytime soon and can continue serving for years to come.
