The Owners came to us wanting to remodel their small 1960s lake house located on a quiet inlet of Lake LBJ.  After reviewing the existing construction and the program, it was determined it was better to rebuild.   The site was narrow with bordering trees on either side of the property. The entry was designed to bring visitors further into the property, showcasing the panoramic views of the lake from the moment you enter the home.   Special attention was given to the custom rail creating a fun retro yet modern feel capturing views out to the lake and overlooking the living room.  Details were executed with a palette of rift-sawn oak cabinets, hickory pecan flooring, douglass fir beams and columns, local cut stone, and cypress siding. The kitchen is perfect for gathering family and friends.

Following the “perfect wall” concept the house and roof were designed for maximum energy efficiency.  Finishes followed Austin Energy Green Building guidelines utilizing low and no-VOC paints and stains.
