The owner’s request was to renovate his home in Austin, originally built in 1977, and incorporate his love of contemporary Mexican architecture and Mexican folk art. Oaxacan Mexican folk art is known for its vibrant colors and intricate designs.  Drawing inspiration from the architecture of Ricardo Legorreta and Luis Barragan, Joe and his team brought his vision and personality to light.  Using clerestory windows and tall ceilings to bring natural light deep into the living space help to accentuate the strong and colorful forms while simplifying the roof line.  The master bath continued the theme transforming into a colorful and textural exotic escape.
